This morning, see Amsterdam aboard a glasstopped
boat on a canal cruise. Then view Rembrandt’s
masterpieces, including the famous Nightwatch, at
the Rijksmuseum. Next, visit a diamond
factory to see how these sparkling gems are turned

Day 4, Sun. AMSTERDAM / DE HAAR CASTLE / BASTOGNE, BELGIUM / LUXEMBOURG. |

Take a morning drive to Haarzuilens to visit the magnificent gardensof De Haar Castle. Next is Maastricht where the famous treaty for a stronger unified Europe was signed. Then head south into Belgium, and on to Bastogne. Here, make a stop at the site of the Battle of the Bulge with its impressive American Memorial. End your day in Luxembourg, one of Europe’s smallest sovereign states. (B,D) |

A local expert covers the city’s past and present, from the fortifications of Old Town perched atop a sandÂstone outcrop, to the modern administraÂtive center of European Institutions. Begin with a walkÂing tour that includes the breathtaking gorge of the Rivers Alzette and Petrusse, the Cathedral of our Lady of LuxemÂbourg and the
Grand Ducal Palace. Next visit the grave of General George Patton.Then there is free time to explore on your own. (B) |

Day 6, Tue. LUXEMBOURG / DINANT, BELGIUM / MONS / BRUGES. at Bruges (Brugge) |

Begin your day with a picture stop at the Cistercian Abbey of Orval. On to Dinant, the birthplace of Adolphe Sax, inventor of the saxophone. Then head via Mons to Bruges, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities. Dinner tonight is at a local restaurant. (B,D) |

Day 7, Wed. BRUGES. at Bruges (Brugge) |

Bruges, the “Venice of the
North,†proudly tells the story of the art and
architecture of the Middle Ages. A walking tour highlights
the main sights of this historic city. Plus, enjoy a cruise along
the picturesque canals and visit the renowned Lace Centre.
The rest of the day is free for independent sightseeing and

Visit Ghent, where an orientation tour shows you the “Three Towers of Ghent†and other main sights. Then on to medieval Brussels, the proud cosmopolitan capital of the European Union. (B,D) |

A tour this morning features the Atomium, the Royal Palace and the Japanese and Chinese Pagodas. Next, walk to see the Grand’Place, with its baroque guild houses, the gothic Town Hall and the most famous inhabitant of the city, the charming little Mannekin Pis. (B) |

Leaving Brussels, travel to Antwerp this morning. Then continue on, crossing the Dutch border and the ZeeÂland Bridge. Ride through the pretty countryside to the charming village of Delft and on to Rotterdam, the world’s busiest port. Tonight, relish a Farewell Dinner with newfound friends. (B,D) |
